The centennial Poland’s independence celebrations focus on film, visual arts, music, and dance as arts use the universal language across cultures.  Polish film masterpieces have been selected by the Polish Film Institute for their artistic quality, wide thematic spectrum and coverage of varied historical periods. They provide a valuable insight into Polish and European history from the viewpoint of several generations, ranging from Andrzej Wajda, now a classic figure of Polish cinema, to Jan Komasa, one of the Polish youngest filmmakers.
